Stacking

Well, I'll post at least a hand a day, that's easy.

This is one from my 5-10 NL 6-max play. It shows basically the most usual mistake of a cash game NL player, that is, playing all your stack with just top pair.

Full Tilt Poker
No Limit Holdem Ring game
Blinds: $5/$10
5 players

Stack sizes:
UTG: $1272.95
Hero: $1188
Button: $1003
SB: $2373
BB: $1354.30

Pre-flop: (5 players) Hero is CO with K♥ K♠
UTG raises to $35, Hero calls, Button calls, SB folds, BB calls.

Flop: K♦ A♥ 9♠ ($145, 4 players)
BB checks, UTG bets $145, Hero calls, 2 folds.

Turn: 4♥ ($435, 2 players)
UTG bets $300, Hero raises all-in $1008, UTG calls.

River: Q♠ ($2451, 1 player + 1 all-in - Main pot: $2451)

Results:
Final pot: $2451
UTG showed Qc Ad
Hero showed Kh Ks

Hopefully I keep stacking people in the 5-10 game, so I can play some WSOP events.

I have the same question (or at least I think I do, no habla), why no preflop raise? Balance? Was the table frisky and you were expecting a squeeze attempt?

Nice patience waiting for the turn shove.

Also, seems like an awful turn bet by the villain, really priced himself into a bad call, especially since all he could beat was a bluff. He should have checked in there somewhere, though the river card doomed him no matter what line he took to the river.

Saludos!

Eduardo, as Todd said, it was mostly balance, specially 6-handed you can't reraise all the time with KK.

Franklin, pues que interesante encontrarte por aqui, a pesar de tener miles de libros de poker, no he leido mucho ultimamente, pero definitivamente hay libros bastante buenos en el mercado y pues depende si tu lo que quieres es jugar torneos o cash games.

thats wrong, you can and should raise all the time w KK, MAYBE out of the SB or if the table is stupid aggro and you are very certain of a squeeze play, etc. you at least have to raise the flop. as played this looks so gross
